Free AI is not so free. The lab is already tomorrow.
People want free AI. The storefronts know that. So they wrap a paid model in a pretty site and call it a tool. Open-source weights are free. Almost everything else is a hook.
The chat window most people use is not the model in the laboratory. Lab systems and robots already exist on this planet. They are trained to be fast, effective, and intelligent. Soon they act as they were trained. Who holds them — the trainer, the CEO, the government, the army, the energy company? All of them sit in the same revenue stack. Ask the harder question: what if the lab is already acting with less human hand than the brochure says?
Do not waste a night scrolling “best free AI tools.” Search for cheap, efficient, and a method: several models in free-tiers, each doing what it is good at. Refuse a subscription until the work actually needs one. If you want something solid, you pay. More you pay, sharper the result. That is the design. Rich get the lab. Poor get the wrapper.
Tech Giants made that hierarchy obvious. AI, as shipped, belongs to shareholders. Did the firms ask humanity to accept the implementation? Did it warn what the stack costs water, work, childhood, and now the battlefield? No. The beautiful story is already a weapons race with a consumer smile. Military AI moved from theory to practice. You need to stop calling wrappers “free.”
Where to hunt new cheap tools

Directories already exist. Most bury small builders under ads and “featured” slots. This wall is the opposite: if the tool is actually free to use, one person can hang it here after a human revision. No listing price. Traffic is the point. Collaboration is welcome.
Free means free for the visitor. Open weights, a public page, a guide, a small app with no account trap. Wrappers that bait a card will be refused. Paid products belong later on TGSnowMarket, not on this list.
